Teacher Week: where do you teach?

I'm linking up with Blog Hoppin' again for their Teacher Week linky! Today, I'm going to tell show you where I teach, and give you pics of my classroom...

Student rules are posted on the front board. I'm hoping this year, with them up front, the kids will actually follow the rules! I'm also using Class Dojo for behavior. I'm liking how the noise motivates the kids to stop talking. Yay!!

In my room, the only place with outlets in the room is along the front wall. So, I had to put all my computers along that wall. I do like that when the kids are on the computers, their backs are to the rest of the class, so they can't get distracted.

I've never done math stations/centers before, but I'm going to try it this year. Yes, these are from the fabulous Amy Lemons. I'm so excited to use these!!

The most space for displaying writing is in the back of the room. Those sheets are from the amazing Jivey! I L.O.V.E. her mentor text sentences and No Prep reading and writing!

My attempt at a small group area. In front of this cabinet is my kidney table. I put up the wonderful Joanne's (Head over Heels for Teaching) Interactive Reading Tools.

My lovely library.

Supplies for students if they need anything. This year, most kids brought all the things they need.

This is my really messy teacher desk. I don't sit at it often during the day, hence the reason for the mess. I put things on it all day, and then try to dig out when my kids leave.

These are my notebooks of many wonderful units that I purchased on TpT during the BTS sale a few weeks ago. I love, love, love them! I will be adding more notebooks soon.

So, there you go. Not the greatest pics, and they are on my blog from a few days ago, but this has more explanation. Now you know where I am during the day.

Teacher Week: Who am I?

Hi friends,
I'm linking up with Katie from Little Warriors and Stephanie Falling Into First for their fun Teacher Week linky.  Today is getting to know you.  So...this will be about me.

you can go link up with Steph right now and Blog Hoppin' on Monday for Teacher Week.

So, this is me, Jamie Prichard, this summer, on my only vacation away.  I don't have pictures of me teaching, so this me "unteaching". In other words, this is me relaxing!  We were in Cambria for a few days. We went to this restaurant because I have a black cat. (The food was DELICIOUS!) But when I am teaching, I teach 3rd grade in the Los Angeles area. This is my 15th year at the same school!

                                                                                             Family

This is my wonderful husband. We've been married for 1 year, 1 month, and 12 days! (but who's counting?) I wasn't sure I was ever going to get married, but he is my better half-most days. He can make me laugh and feel special right when I need it!

I have 3 half-brothers, but I only really talk to one. He lives in San Francisco, so geographically, he is the closest to me. But he was the one brother that I grew up with, so that's probably why we're the closest.  I have one brother in Colorado, who I keep in touch with on Facebook. My other brother, who lives in Chicago, I never speak to. (don't feel bad, friends!)

Friends

These girls are all super good friends.  I would not be where I am today if not for each of these gals.  Each one has been there for me in different situations, but all mean the world to me.

Things I love
Baseball: fav team, San Diego Padres!!  (I'm from San Diego)

 doggies
 horses
 my cat, Bella
 Veuve Clicquot champagne
the beach

Be sure to link up with Stephanie and Katie, and tell us who YOU are!

Classroom pics

Oh boy! This was the first week with kids. My kids seem great (yes, first week honeymoon great). I hope I continue to feel this way about them all year. Anyway, this post is about seeing my classroom.  Here it is...

Not enough hours in the day!

I know, I owe more than one post, but I've just been so so busy! I haven't been able to find the time. But I promise I will come back soon to blog about my first week of school with kids. (yes, friends, this is already week 2 starting tomorrow!!)  Oye! But, I did want to share a place value/rounding (NBT 3.1) set of task cards that I just made. What??!! I made something?! Y.E.S.!!! And because I'm never sure of the things I create, I'm letting you have it for the taking! (plus, I don't have a TpT store...) Just let me know if you like it, if you download it. Thanks!
